An appeal of President of the Chief Militaries Club of the RF

 The Chief Militaries Club of the RF was set up under the support of the President of the RF and it unites chief officers of our country.

The Club has been established as a social organization and took a worthy place in a system of patriotic education, consolidation and development of the Russian society, solutions of international problems.

Members of the Club who are still doing military service and also who were transferred to the reserve, assume as a basis of their work main principles of the Club, which are as follows: nationality, patriotism, spirituality. Thousands of retired commanders are ready to continue bringing benefit to their government in a different quality.

Spending their best years to their service to the Motherland, today they continue to work in legislative and executive governmental bodies, contribute to consolidation of international security and actively participate in realization of a governmental program “Patriotic education”.

The Club assists in realization of many, but unfortunately not all social problems. Veterans commanders, undoubtedly, are worthy of more attention as from the side of the government, but also from the side of the Russian society and business.

I wish all who take an interest, fruitful cooperation with the Chief Militaries Club of the RF for the benefit of our Motherland”.

On November 22, 2010, on the eve of the 24th anniversary of finishing the construction of the "Shelter" – an object over the exploded the fourth block of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, in the Cultural Center of the Russian Armed Forces were awarded with an international annual award "The Star of Chernobyl" winners in the field of literature and art.

On November 19, 2010 in the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 the Organizing Committee for the perpetuation of memory of the first Heroes of the Soviet Union held a solemn event devoted to the transfer to the museum of the bronze bust of the Hero of the Soviet Union (gold star number 6), General-Major of Aviation M. V. Vodopyanov.

On November 10, 2010 4 years passed since the death of Marshal of the Russian Federation, former Minister of Defense, the 1st President of the Chief Militaries Club of the Russian Federation, Hero of the Russian Federation Igor Dmitrievich Sergeyev.

The Chief Militaries Club of the Russian Federation was founded on January 31, 2005 under support of the President of the Russian Federation and heads of security, defense and law enforcement agencies.

This is an All-Russian social organization, uniting the operations and strategic level of management of military organization of Russia. In its staff there are more than 2 thousand of active, retired and staying in the reserve officers of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affaires, the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of the Emergency Situations, the Foreign Intelligence Service and other security services.

Having united in the frames of the Club, the military elite continue to work in interests of consolidation of defense capacity of the state and forming of the civil society. Among the main directions of the Club activity is patriotic education of citizens, attraction of socially responsible business for taking veterans and military colleges under patronage and also realization of a number of scale projects, called for strengthening of connections between different strata of society and generations, continue traditions, which the history of our country is rich in.

The Club transacts a great international work on cooperation with international colleagues in questions of collective security, counteraction to terrorism, drug threat and contraband. Members of the Club speak as experts in profile committees of the State Duma and the Council of Federation, participate in development of legislative documents, actively participate with media.

 


           
           

On April 3, 2010 is the 75th birthday anniversary of General of the Army Shuralev Vladimir Mikhailovich.
On March 17, 2010 is the 78th birthday anniversary of General of the Army Kochetov Konstantin Alekseevich.
On March 9, 2010 is the 65th birthday anniversary of General of the Army Tikhomirov Vyacheslav Valentinovich.
On February 6, 2010 is the 87th birthday anniversary of twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Air Marshal Yefimov Aleksander Nikolaevich.
On May 6, 2009 after a serious and long-lasting illness in the age of 86 died an active participant of the Great Patriotic War, Hero of the Soviet Union, General of the Army, a member of the Chief Militaries Club of the RF Varennikov Valentin Ivanovich.

V. I. Varennikov became nationally-known in 1945, when he was a commander of a banner platoon, who delivered to Moscow from overwhelmed Berlin the Victory Banner, having been hoisted above Reichstag.

In a postwar period V. I. Varennikov participated in fighting in Angola, Syria, Ethiopia and Afghanistan.

He had to coordinate work of military departments liquidating consequences of accident in Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

General of the Army V. I. Varennikov consecutively passed all commanding positions. He commanded a platoon, a company, a battalion, a regiment, a division, a corps, forces of Red Banner Carpathian military district.

Afterwards he was Head of Chief Administration, the first deputy Head of the General headquarters of the Armed Forces of the USSR, Head of Administration of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR in Afghanistan, Commandant-in-Chief of Land forces – Deputy Minister of Defense of the USSR, a member of the council of defense of the USSR.

V. I. Varennikov was Deputy of Council of Union of AF of the USSR, Deputy of AF of RSFSR, national deputy of the USSR. In 1995 was elected the State Duma Deputy.

V. I. Varennikov was awarded a title of Hero of the Soviet Union. He was awarded an order “For military services”, two orders after Lenin, four orders of the Red Banner, orders of October Revolution, after Kutuzov of the First Class, three of the Patriotic War of the First and Second Class, Red Banner, “For services to Fatherland in Military Forces of the USSR” of the Third Class, thirty medals of the USSR, and also more than twenty foreign orders and medals.
